PHOTO STORY
Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo needs no introduction and has been one of my favourite cities to photograph. It's delicious, its outrageous and everything just seems to be in place.

Here's a selection of photos from 3 trips between 2013 and 2018, and yet barely scratched the surface of what Tokyo has to offer.

Be it a random restaurant, corner ramen store or izakaya on the 5th floor in a dark alley, it's hard to be disappointed

Tokyo (and in fact, Japan) has been one of the best destinations for food getaways as many of you I'm sure also have collected multiple Japanese immigration stamps in your passports. From convenient store onigiris to yodofu from Ryoanji temple, the secret ingredients to no surprises would include tradition and dedication to craft and process.

TIP Tsukiji is still a worthy visit despite the relocation of the fish market.

As wonderful as Japan may be, tourism can a double edge sword - locals are often friendly and ready to help, but it wouldn't be the first nation in the world to suffer from over-tourism and you may be turned away by restaurants for being a foreigner or tourist. But thankfully, there's always next door and the beer is just as cold.

Tokyo is an amazing destination all year long, and Japan as a whole is quite the wonder, and very easy to move around thanks to the Japan Rail (JR) Passes as well as domestic flights with JAL Explorer Pass.

I try not to do the same countries too often but Japan always seem like a good idea. All the hours you put in at work, gotto spend that somewhere, right?
